The Kona does a little better than the Tucson with fuel economy, at least when it runs on the 2.0-liter engine. With that standard engine, this model can earn as much as 35 miles per gallon on the highway and 28 miles per gallon in the city.
The turbocharged version almost hits those marks, having an estimated fuel economy of 32/26 (highway/city) miles per gallon. That’s almost identical to the fuel economy of the Tucson, which is 32/25 (highway/city) miles per gallon.
One of the reasons Hyundai models attract so much attention is because they come with advanced technology. Hyundai recently redesigned the Kona, and it can now offer a pair of 12.3-inch displays. The Tucson can also have two large displays, but its available screens measure 10.25 inches. You get Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and SiriusXM with both vehicles. Navigation is included with many trims, too.
